Our elders often say that you should savor each bite of the food you eat. They also said to stay away from TV or work when you are eating. This is because a proper mind link helps in good digestion of the food. You dont eat because you have to survive you eat because you love what you are eating. This is often why people hate eating raw vegetables, probably because they do not taste good and you lose your mind link. Also it has been proven that if you eat each bite with full concentration, you will not have to overeat to feel full.
Another important tip our elders used to give us, was to avoid any kind of sweetened beverage. You see, natural sweetness does not increase weight but processed ones do and you should always keep a count on how many calories to lose weight. This is why doctors and physicians recommend fruits (which are sweet) but often ask us to stay away from processed fats. Artificial sugar is difficult to process and is often the reason why most people put on so much weight.
